Sometimes, people tell me a drawing is really good, and I figure out that they’re the type of person that tells little white lies, because it’s not a good drawing, and it’s one of those days where you can’t draw anything properly. If I say something’s bad, and it is, they shouldn’t flat out say that it’s bad, but they shouldn’t try and convince me it’s good. I’d settle for a, “Yeah, you’ve drawn better things before.” And I’d nod and agree with them.

Drawing~~~~

So I’ve been practicing my drawing skillssss and started sketching the way I did in my Graphic Design class….and seriously…..it works SOOO much better. I thought the steps were kind of stupid and pointless at first but finding the shapes is helping a LOT. Granted, I AM using this as a reference, and I usually try to avoid references, but if it’s going to help me learn to 1) draw fanart and 2) eventually become better at drawing my own characters consistently, I think it’s worth it. It doesn’t even take THAT much more time, and already, my Bolin sketch is looking MUCH better than ANY of the ones I’ve done before.

So yeah. I’m getting excited. :D

So I’ve decided I’m gonna practice drawing guys, because I keep trying new styles and then looking at them and going, “Oh man! I’m so proud of myself! It looks GREAT!” and then turning back two days later and asking myself (sobbing), “WHYYYY did I think that was good?!”

Anyway. Best way to learn to draw is imitation, right? And it’s not like I’m going to try and sell my stuff or anything. (HA!) Soooo…..imma go draw Bolin now. ^_^
